What is Behavioral Rehabilitation?

Canine Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is designed to address change in behaviors, and behaviors associated with adolescent and adopted dogs.

Behavioral Rehabilitation is simply addressing unwanted behaviors
common in adolescent (6 -24 months) and adopted dogs, and/or
change in behaviors in older dogs.

  • Does your dog flip-you-the-bird, or is he/she the “guy at the party with the lampshade on their head?

  • Was your dog a dream puppy and now, at “adolescence” has decided that listening is stupid?

  • Has a change in lifestyle caused a change in behavior? Or perhaps there is change in behavior for no apparent reason.

  • Are methods that were effective with other dogs you have had falling short with one particular dog?

Common Dog Behavioral Problems that UPWARD Dogology addresses:

  • leash reactivity

  • chewing/stealing objects

  • jumping/nipping

  • poor recall

  • excessive barking

  • messing in the home (intentionally)

  • messing in the home out of simply not being house-trained
    (when common methods are ineffective)

    and more.

By changing our approach from focusing on the unwanted behavior, to establishing the skills, creating a bond, and formulating a foundation, we change behavior - or, more accurately, dogs choose to change their behavior.

“Billie came to work with me on my foster dog when I had not the slightest idea on how to approach his bad behaviour. Within half an hour he was responding to her methods. Not even 3 days later I am dealing with a whole different dog that strives to make me happy and wants my direction rather than being an impossible toddler who’s been told they can’t have candy. I’m amazed how easy it was to get here! Billie was able to figure out the dynamics in my household within seconds and turned it around in no time. She’s simply amazing”
